Mark Amin
Mark Amin is the founder and CEO of Sobini Films. His recent producing credits include Universal’s JT LEROY starring Kristen Stewart and Laura Dern, Sony Pictures Classics’ MILES AHEAD starring Don Cheadle and Ewan McGregor, IFC Films’ GOOD KILL starring Ethan Hawke. In addition to his work at Sobini, Amin served as Vice Chairman of Lionsgate Entertainment. During Amin’s nine year term, Lionsgate produced and distributed such critically acclaimed films as MONSTER’S BALL, which earned Halle Barry an Academy Award for Best Actress, and CRASH, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. Prior to his work with Lionsgate and Sobini, Amin founded Trimark Holdings, Inc. and served as the company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer until the company merged with Lionsgate. Amin’s credits from his time at Trimark include the critically acclaimed EVE’S BAYOU starring Samuel Jackson, the Emmy Award winning THE SIMPLE LIFE OF NOAH DEARBORN starring Sidney Poitier, and FRIDA, distributed by Miramax Films, which garnered six Academy Award nominations.
Cami Winikoff
As President and co-founder of Sobini Films, Cami Winikoff has shepherded a diverse range of features and franchises since the company’s origin in 2001. Her credits include JT LEROY; MILES AHEAD; PEACEFUL WARRIOR, in which Cami orchestrated an impressive second theatrical release; HBO’s contemporary American Girl film CHRISSA STAND STRONG, which was honored with the 2009 Gold Award from National Parenting Publications; THE PRINCE AND ME, which has spawned two successful sequels; and STREETS OF LEGEND which was nominated for Grand Jury Prize, and won the Cinematography Award, at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival. As COO for Trimark Pictures, Winikoff oversaw all of the company’s finance and operations, business and legal affairs, theatrical distribution, home entertainment, international and television distribution, and headed the production of over seventy-five films. Winikoff’s Trimark credits include EVE’S BAYOU, FRIDA, KICK AND SCREAMING, KAMA SUTRA, and the notorious LEPRECHAUN films. Winikoff capped her tenure at Trimark as a key player in negotiating the merger with Lionsgate. Following this, Winikoff served as Executive Vice President, where she was at the forefront of building Lionsgate’s executive team and facilitating its profitable business plan.
Dave Devries
Dave Devries is Vice President of Sobini Films, where he oversees the company’s film and television slate. Dave’s feature experience ranges from large studio features like Universal’s JASON BOURNE to acclaimed indie films like PLUS ONE and DEAD MAN’S WIRE. His projects have premiered at the Toronto, Venice, and Tribeca film festivals and earned Academy Award, BAFTA, and Independent Spirit Award nominations. In television, he has developed and sold projects across streaming, broadcast, and cable, including HBO Max, Prime Video, Peacock, ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, Freeform, Syfy, and USA. He specializes in identifying commercially compelling stories with distinctive creative voices that bridge prestige and mainstream audiences.
Joanna Popper
Joanna Popper is AI Production and Innovation Advisor at Sobini Films, working at the intersection of film, storytelling, AI and emerging technology. As an award-winning executive producer, her credits include FINDING PANDORA X, winner of the Venice Gold Lion for Best VR and the SXSW Audience Award, and BREONNA’S GARDEN, which premiered at Tribeca and SXSW and won multiple impact awards. As co-founder of Satire AI, she produced 30 AI-powered short films honored with 20 international awards. Previously, Popper served as Chief Metaverse Officer at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), leading strategic initiatives across AI and spatial computing; headed HP’s emerging technology/XR division; served as VP of Marketing at NBCUniversal; and advised or served on the boards of AGBO (the Russo Brothers), Metaphysic AI (acquired by DNEG), and Unity Software. She is CEO of Laurel Beach, an AI and media consultancy, and serves on the board of the Producers Guild of America and the Television Academy’s Emerging Media Peer Group Executive Committee. She is recognized in the XR Hall of Fame.
